Election Readiness Hits High Gear

With the notification of the 2026 Assembly Elections, administrative activities in the district have gained significant momentum. On Friday, Vishwa Mohan Sharma, the General Observer for the 41st Gangarampur Assembly Constituency, visited the District Administrative building to review the operational readiness of several crucial departments.

During his visit, the Observer meticulously inspected the District Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Cell. He took a detailed briefing on the ongoing surveillance of election-related content across various news outlets and social media platforms. Emphasizing the need for a flawless monitoring process, Mr. Sharma provided valuable guidance to the staff on how to enhance the precision of their oversight.

In addition to the MCMC Cell, the General Observer also visited the Media Centre, the C-Vigil Control Room, the Nomination Centre, and the 1950 Helpline (Call Centre). He specifically reviewed the efficacy of the 1950 helpline, which operates round the clock to address voter grievances and queries. He highlighted that ensuring a prompt response to public concerns is vital for a smooth electoral experience.The high-profile inspection was attended by Subrata Mohanta, the Returning Officer (RO) of the 41st Gangarampur Constituency, and Azizur Rahman, the District Information and Cultural Officer, along with other senior administrative officials.
Political analysts believe that such proactive oversight and the Observer's strategic directions have further fortified the administration’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent election. The visit underscores the district's rigorous preparation to ensure a peaceful polling process for all citizens.
