The Bharatiya Janata Party’s youth wing(Yuba Morcha) on Thursday launched a signature campaign titled “Chakri Chay Bangla” (Bengal Wants Jobs) in Gangarampur, highlighting concerns over unemployment and the lack of job opportunities in the state.
The campaign was organized by the Gangarampur Town Mandal of the BJP Yuva Morcha at the Gangarampur bus stand area, where party workers collected signatures from local youths under the slogan “Niyog Nai, BJP Tai” (No recruitment, that is why BJP). The initiative aimed to mobilize public opinion and press the state government to address employment-related issues.
Among those present at the program were Swarup Choudhury, President of the BJP’s South Dinajpur district unit; Siddhartha Sarkar, District Secretary of the BJP Yuva Morcha; and Kushal Dutta Choudhury, President of the Gangarampur Town Mandal, along with several youth wing workers.
Addressing the gathering, Mr.Swarup Choudhury alleged that the Trinamool Congress-led state government had failed to generate employment opportunities during its tenure, leaving large sections of the youth population disillusioned and frustrated. He said the signature drive was part of a broader statewide movement to demand jobs and accountability from the government.
“The youth of Bengal are suffering due to the absence of meaningful employment,” Mr.Swarup Choudhury said. “Through the ‘Chakri Chay Bangla’ campaign, we are collecting signatures to place this demand formally before the state government.”According to party leaders, the memorandums bearing the collected signatures will be submitted to the West Bengal government in the coming days as part of the BJP’s ongoing efforts to spotlight unemployment as a key political and social issue in the state.
