Balurghat Khadimpur High School, a venerable educational institution woven deeply into the intellectual and cultural fabric of South Dinajpur, has embarked on an elaborate celebration to commemorate its 75th anniversary, marking a Platinum Jubilee that spans from January 3 to January 7, 2026.

The observances commenced on Saturday morning with a resplendent prabhat pheri—a ceremonial dawn procession that wound its way through the surrounding neighborhoods, suffused with nostalgia and civic pride. Current students, alumni spanning generations, faculty members, and education advocates marched together, transforming the streets into a living chronicle of the school’s enduring legacy.Sunday’s program is set to foreground the institution’s alumni network, with a grand reunion of former students, alongside a voluntary blood donation camp, quiz competitions, and a prize distribution ceremony—events designed to fuse social responsibility with intellectual engagement.

The celebrations will gather further momentum on Monday with a series of seminars and exhibitions reflecting the school’s academic journey, followed by theatrical performances and a musical recital by renowned vocalist Jayati Chakraborty, whose presence is expected to lend cultural gravitas to the occasion.On Tuesday, the spotlight will turn to choral excellence, as the Calcutta Choir, under the direction of eminent musician Kalyan Sen Barat, takes the stage after exhibitions and award ceremonies. The concluding day, Wednesday, will feature another round of exhibitions and a much-anticipated musical performance by Indian Idol alumnus Subhajit Chakraborty, drawing the festivities to a celebratory crescendo.
