West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee virtually inaugurated a total of 428 development projects spread across the eight districts of North Bengal on Monday. Joining the administrative meeting from Cooch Behar through a remote virtual system, she connected with all district officials simultaneously.Of the 428 projects, 26 development projects from South Dinajpur were officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister. These projects, amounting to a total expenditure of ₹65 crore, cover various sectors aimed at boosting infrastructural and community development in the district.At the Baluchhaya Bhavan in South Dinajpur, District Magistrate Bala Subramanian T. and other senior officials were present during the virtual inauguration ceremony.
During the administrative review, Mamata Banerjee issued clear instructions to all district authorities: all ongoing development works must be completed within February–March.She also emphasized the need for heightened surveillance and stronger law-and-order measures in border-adjacent districts. The Chief Minister directed the Superintendent of Police and all ICs to stay alert and ensure peace and stability in the region.
