As Modi Marks Record Tenure, Bengal BJP Leader Offers Prayers for His Health

On a day marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emergence as India’s longest-serving leader in office, Dr.Sukanta Majumdar, a federal minister and member of Parliament from Balurghat parliamentary constituency , visited a centuries-old Kali temple in Balurghat to offer prayers for the prime minister’s health and longevity.

Dr. Majumdar, India’s Minister of State for Education and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, performed rituals and special prayers at the historic Bura Kalimata Temple in Balurghat on Wednesday morning.

Speaking after the ceremony, Dr. Majumdar said that Mr. Modi had achieved an unprecedented milestone in India’s political history through his long tenure in office and continued service to the nation.“We prayed to Goddess Kali for his good health, long life, and the strength to continue leading the country for many more years,” Dr. Majumdar said.

He added that under Mr. Modi’s leadership, India had accelerated its pace of development and urged that the prime minister remain healthy to sustain what he described as the country’s progress.Several BJP leaders, party workers and supporters attended the prayers, reflecting what local organizers described as enthusiasm surrounding the occasion. Attendees also offered wishes for the prime minister’s continued well-being and leadership as India marked the political milestone.
