NTA NEET-UG Exam
Senior Correspondent. TOD. Balurghat
As thousands of aspiring medical students prepare to sit for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), authorities in Balurghat have instituted a tightly regulated examination process across five designated centers, underscoring a broader national emphasis on security, fairness, and procedural discipline.A total of 1,250 candidates are expected to appear for the examination in the town. Entry to examination venues will begin at 11:00 a.m., with gates closing sharply at 1:30 p.m., after which no candidate will be permitted to enter under any circumstances.
Officials have urged candidates to arrive well in advance to allow sufficient time for mandatory procedures, including registration, frisking, and biometric authentication. Authorities confirmed that videographic recording of each candidate will be conducted during the examination, while closed-circuit cameras installed in every room will be monitored in real time and archived by the National Testing Agency (NTA).Special accommodations have been arranged for candidates with special needs (CWSN). Such candidates will be assigned ground-floor rooms, and those with appropriate documentation in their admit cards will be granted an additional hour to complete the examination.
Strict guidelines have been issued regarding attire and permitted items. Candidates are required to wear simple, modest clothing and footwear. They must carry a two-page admit card — one page bearing a passport-size photograph and the other a postcard-size photograph — along with an additional passport photo. A transparent water bottle is allowed, but candidates are explicitly instructed not to bring pens or wristwatches, as all necessary materials will be provided inside the examination hall.Electronic devices, including mobile phones and Bluetooth-enabled gadgets, are strictly prohibited. Each center is equipped with signal jammers in every room to prevent any form of digital communication.
In addition, candidates must carry an original Aadhaar card as proof of identity, without which entry will not be permitted.Officials emphasized that these comprehensive measures are designed to ensure a smooth and transparent examination process, minimizing the possibility of malpractice while maintaining uniformity across all centers. With heightened surveillance and stringent compliance protocols in place, the NEET examination in Balurghat reflects the increasing rigor with which high-stakes national tests are being conducted across India.
