Awareness Camp Marks Conclusion of NSS Week at Nalanda Vidyapith High School

A weeklong observance of National Service Scheme (NSS) activities at Nalanda Vidyapith High School concluded on Thursday with a comprehensive awareness camp aimed at educating students on pressing social issues.Organized by the school’s NSS unit, the camp sought to foster social responsibility and informed citizenship among students. The program featured in-depth discussions on critical topics including human trafficking, child trafficking, child marriage prevention, cybercrime, and the adverse effects of excessive mobile phone use.

Speakers at the event highlighted the societal impact, associated risks, and preventive measures related to each issue. Their addresses were designed to equip students with practical knowledge and encourage vigilance and proactive engagement within their communities.The event was conducted under the leadership of the school’s headmaster, Soumit Das, whose planning and coordination ensured its smooth execution. The program commenced with a ceremonial welcome, as students greeted guests with floral bouquets, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Mr. Das delivered the opening address, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.

Among the distinguished attendees were Hanuta Ram, an officer from the 79 BNPSF Hili BOP, and child protection worker Suraj Das, both of whom contributed valuable insights. Representatives from Ujjiban Society, including Parimal Mahato, as well as BSF personnel Subarna Biswas and Swapan Sarkar, were also present.A notable segment of the camp involved members of the school’s Kanyashree Club, along with other students, taking a pledge to actively oppose child marriage. The participants affirmed their commitment to raising awareness and taking initiative within their local communities.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Das emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives, expressing hope that expanded efforts in the future would contribute to meaningful social change.The camp concluded on a positive note, leaving a significant impression on students and attendees alike, and reinforcing the role of education in addressing societal challenges.
