A free, daylong health camp is set to take place in Hili, a border town in south Dinajpur, offering vital medical services to residents who often face limited access to care. Organized by the Dakshin Dinajpur District Press Club, the initiative marks the club’s golden jubilee year and reflects a growing collaboration between local civic groups and health organizations.
The event, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday,22nd March. Organizers say the camp will provide consultations from specialist physicians affiliated with Hili Rural Hospital and Balurghat District Hospitals, aiming to reach underserved populations in the region.Patients attending the camp will receive free medical consultations, along with essential diagnostic services such as blood sugar testing, blood pressure measurement, and electrocardiograms. In addition, certain blood tests will be offered at subsidized rates, making them more accessible to low-income individuals.
Community leaders involved in the initiative emphasize that the camp is not only a celebration of the press club’s long-standing presence but also an effort to address persistent gaps in rural healthcare. They note that such outreach programs can play a crucial role in early detection of chronic conditions, which often go untreated due to cost or distance.
Residents have been encouraged to register in advance, though on-site registration will also be available. Organizers expect a strong turnout, reflecting both the need for affordable healthcare and the community’s trust in locally driven efforts. As rural healthcare continues to pose challenges across parts of Hili , events like this health camp underscore the importance of partnerships between civic institutions and private sponsors in delivering essential services to those most in need.
