The Trinamool Congress has begun preparations to promote the West Bengal government’s welfare initiatives announced in the latest state budget, holding an organizational meeting with district and block-level party leaders ahead of the next Assembly elections.
The meeting was attended by the Trinamool Congress district president, Subhash Bhowal; senior district leader Prashanta Mitra; Mahila Trinamool Congress chairperson Snehalata Hembram; and Youth Trinamool Congress president Ambarish Sarkar, along with other party functionaries.
Party sources said the discussions focused on key public-oriented schemes of the Chief Minister, particularly the increase in financial assistance under the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme and the extension of benefits under the Yuvashree (Yuva Sathi) programme. Leaders also emphasized the government’s initiatives aimed at supporting Rajbanshi and Adivasi communities, as well as religious minorities.
According to those present, the meeting outlined strategies to communicate the impact of these schemes more effectively at the grassroots level, ensuring that beneficiaries are aware of the expanded provisions announced in the state budget.
While party leaders described the gathering as part of routine organizational work, it is widely seen as an early step in mobilization ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. The focus on welfare delivery and community-specific outreach is expected to form a central plank of the party’s campaign narrative in the months ahead.
