Senior Health Official Reviews Services at Gangarampur Super Specialty Hospital

On Saturday afternoon around 5 p.m., Narayan Swaroop Nigam, Principal Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of West Bengal, visited Gangarampur Super Specialty Hospital to review healthcare services and assess areas for improvement.


During the visit, Mr. Nigam toured several wards of the hospital and examined the functioning of various departments. He later held a closed-door meeting with the district’s chief health officials and hospital superintendents to discuss operational issues and service delivery.Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Mr. Nigam said the inspection was aimed at strengthening hospital services. He noted that the review focused on identifying where good work is already being done and exploring ways to further improve care through additional measures and recommendations.

Questions were also raised about the absence of a morgue at the Gangarampur sub-divisional hospital. Mr. Nigam described the matter as a local issue and said it would be addressed by the district’s Chief Medical Officer of Health.Reporters also asked about the lack of an ATM facility within the hospital premises. Mr. Nigam said the matter primarily concerns banks, but added that he would raise the issue in discussions with the district administration.
