A purified drinking water facility was inaugurated on Sunday afternoon at the Shri Shri Loknath Jyotirmoy Temple in Khadimpur, Balurghat, marking a significant step toward improving basic amenities for devotees and residents associated with the Loknath Mission.
The project, implemented at a cost of approximately 80,000 rupees, was made possible through the donation of Dr. Subhashish Karmakar, along with his mother, Anita Biswas, and father, Kamal Chandra Karmakar. The initiative aims to ensure access to safe and clean drinking water for the temple, the mission’s members, its residents, and people from the surrounding area.
The Loknath Mission, which manages the temple, has long been engaged in social service activities across the region. The newly inaugurated facility adds another chapter to its efforts in community welfare.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ajay Kumar Ghosh, president of the Shri Shri Loknath Jyotirmoy Temple, expressed gratitude to the donor family, describing the contribution as an example of social responsibility and human compassion. “This initiative is not merely about infrastructure,” Mr.Ajay Kumar Ghosh said. “It reflects a deep sense of duty toward society and will benefit countless people in their daily lives.”
Attendees at the event echoed similar sentiments, noting that such acts of generosity help strengthen community bonds and inspire others to contribute toward social development. Local residents welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of access to clean drinking water as a basic necessity.
The contribution by Dr. Karmakar and his family has drawn appreciation across the area, standing as a reminder that collective efforts and individual generosity can bring meaningful and lasting change to society.
