According to the association, payments amounting to nearly ₹1 crore are still pending for 56 small vehicle owners whose cars were deployed for election-related duties. The delay in reimbursement has caused severe financial strain on the owners, they claimed. After the meeting, vehicle owners stated that the District Magistrate directed the Additional District Magistrate and the Election Officer-in-Charge to take prompt steps to ensure early release of the outstanding payments.
However, the association issued a clear warning, stating that if the dues are not cleared at the earliest, they would be compelled to refuse providing vehicles during the upcoming Assembly elections.
The situation has drawn attention to the recurring issue of delayed payments to private vehicle owners engaged in election duties, with the association urging the administration to honor its commitments without further delay.
