Khadimpur High School, one of Balurghat’s enduring centers of public education, marked its 75th year with a thoughtfully curated, multi-day celebration that blended institutional memory with contemporary pedagogical practice. The Platinum Jubilee observance, running from January 3 to January 7, 2026, culminated in a three-day, subject-based academic exhibition that placed students at the center of knowledge creation and presentation. The celebrations commenced on Saturday, January 3, with a vibrant morning procession through the school campus, drawing together current and former students, teachers, alumni, and education advocates. The event functioned less as a ceremonial ritual and more as a symbolic reconnection across generations—an affirmation of the school’s evolving yet continuous role in the community.
From Sunday, January 4, through Tuesday, January 6, classrooms were reimagined as interactive exhibition spaces, where students presented projects across multiple disciplines. The displays reflected a hands-on, inquiry-driven approach to learning, signaling a shift from rote instruction toward experiential education aligned with modern academic frameworks.Students from the primary section participated alongside their senior counterparts, underscoring the school’s emphasis on early engagement and inclusive learning. Alumni added a distinct dimension to the exhibition, contributing artworks, drawings, and sculptures that bridged creative expression with institutional heritage.
In parallel, students curated a series of wall magazines, blending visual storytelling, commentary, and design—an analogue yet powerful medium that highlighted student voices and perspectives while commemorating the Platinum Jubilee.Tuesday marked the final day of the exhibition, attended by the Headmaster, faculty members, alumni, and education enthusiasts from the wider community. Conversations throughout the day reflected not only nostalgia, but also a forward-looking optimism about the school’s capacity to adapt to changing educational landscapes. As Khadimpur High School enters its next chapter, the Platinum Jubilee celebration served as more than a retrospective. It functioned as a statement of intent—that legacy, when paired with innovation, can remain relevant in an era of rapid social and technological change.
