Construction of a new public toilet facility was formally inaugurated on Monday at the Trimohini Hindu Milan Mandir in Dhalpara, a move aimed at improving sanitation and public convenience in the area. The project is being funded through the local area development fund of Dr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Balurghat constituency. The temple is affiliated with the Bharat Sevashram Sangha.

For years, devotees and local residents had faced difficulties due to the lack of adequate toilet facilities within the temple premises. The problem became particularly acute during festivals, religious observances, and social gatherings, when large crowds assembled at the site. Officials and community members said the new facility would provide a safe and hygienic environment for women, men, the elderly and children alike. Beyond serving as basic infrastructure, the project is expected to play a meaningful role in promoting health, cleanliness and dignity in daily life.

Local representatives described the initiative as an important step toward building a “clean village and healthy society.” Improved sanitation, they noted, not only helps prevent disease but also upholds the dignity and sanctity of religious spaces.Residents expressed optimism that the project would strengthen the area’s development trajectory and contribute to maintaining a cleaner environment for both worshippers and the broader community.
