The Alumni Association of Lalit Mohan Adarsha High School on Sunday held a solemn memorial meeting to honor the late Sanjay Karmakar, one of the founding figures of the school’s former students’ council, remembering him as a visionary organizer whose efforts helped bind generations of students to their alma mater.

The gathering, marked by quiet reflection and emotion, brought together alumni, teachers and well-wishers who spoke of Mr.Sanjay  Karmakar’s enduring influence on the institution. Among those present were Amitabh Choudhury, president of the Alumni Association, along with other members of the council. Jayajit Maitra, the assistant headmaster of the school, attended with several teachers, underscoring the close relationship Mr.Sanjay Karmakar had fostered between faculty and former students.

Friends and classmates of Mr. Karmakar recalled his commitment to collective action and community service, describing him as a person of foresight and uncommon organizational skill. Speakers noted that it was through his leadership and initiative that the alumni body took shape, creating a lasting bridge between the school and those who had passed through its halls.

“His work was never about recognition,” one speaker said. “It was about ensuring that former students remained connected to the school and to each other, for the benefit of future generations.”

The meeting concluded with a moment of silence, offered in prayer for the peace of Mr. Karmakar’s soul. As the gathering dispersed, participants reflected on a shared sentiment: that his ideals and dedication would continue to guide the Alumni Association’s work, long after his passing.
