The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with solemn dignity and vibrant public participation on Monday as the South Dinajpur district administration organized an elaborate state ceremony at the Balurghat Stadium Ground.
The celebrations unfolded with full ceremonial honors, reflecting both the constitutional spirit of the nation and the administrative commitment to inclusive civic observance. A colorful parade, featuring contingents from police, and other departments, set the tone for the day. The disciplined march-past drew applause from spectators gathered across the stadium. The event was attended by District Magistrate Bala Subramanian T., Superintendent of Police Chinmoy Mittal, along with senior administrative and police officials. Their presence reinforced the importance of the day as both a constitutional milestone and a reaffirmation of public service.
A special attraction of this year’s celebration was an arms exhibition fair organized by the Border Security Force (BSF).
